It has once again been way way too long since my last post! But its summer what can I say...we have been outside enjoying the warmth while we have it...and man has it been busy!!!
First we started the summer out by potty training Sydney...and she is doing awesome...we had a set back in early June...thanks to playing in water for 4 days straight...but that has been resolved and she is awesome...I can see the light at the end of the diaper tunnel...I can honestly say I am not sad about not having a baby in diapers anymore!!!
For the most part our summer activities have been playing at the neighbors, swmming, or hanging at home. Here are some pictures of the kids enjoying their water table and sandbox that we now use with just water:
They both have been having a blast being outside...every morning when they wake up besides the usual question of when are we going to eat...its quickly followed up by when are we going outside!!! Love it!!
At the end of June Breyden started a morning activity called Elementary School Yard Games..I was unsure how he would like it or if it would be any fun...but I figured if all else fails he gets a hour every tuesday and thursday morning to run around getting rid of energy....he loves it...he gets to play may different type of games: sharks and minnows, freeze tag, tag with tails, soccer, relay races...he tells me everytime he is done that he had soo much fun!!! I am so glad that we enrolled him in it. He also started tball on the same days but in the evening...he loves that as well...he gets to see two of his preschool friends there and is doing pretty good...when he hits the ball it goes pretty far..and he is so excited when he catches the ball correctly... he does get alittle bored if he has to play out field...but thats ok...its all part of the learning experience!! But he looks forward to tuesday and thursday now!!!
For the 4th of July we were able to spend some time up at the cabin with just us...it was so nice to be able to spend time with just us and the kids! It was extremely hot on friday when we went up...it was basically a race to get the truck unloaded, jack settled, a cooler packed, kids and us changed into swimming suits, and head to the boat!! As soon as we got on the boat we were in the water to cool off!! We spent a majority of the weekend on the boat mostly swimming...Andrew did get a little bit of time to fish...but not as much as he would have liked...but thats ok...the lake was rather busy with other cabins up there...but we all had fun...sunday night we let Breyden stay up so he could watch the fireworks being shot off by the neighbors...he loved it...this is the first year that he enjoyed watching them...we also shot him off a few of our own...he loved the parachute guys...Syd on the other hand was not a fan of fireworks...and ran for the cabin...it was soo cute!! When we came home the whole family was exhausted...lots of sun, fun and water will do that to you!!
Kids driving the gator around the yard
I can not believe that summer is basically half way done!!! Im also a little sad this past weekend when we went to target to run some errands I noticed they had put out the school supplies stuff...it hit me in a few weeks I am going to have to buy this stuff for my first born...I am so excited for him, but also sad at the same time!! I cant believe he will be in kindergarten in 2 short months!!!
Hopefully it will not be 6 weeks til my next post, but its summer and we are enjoying every moment of it!
