This week has been a tough one to say the least....When the kids came home late Sunday night little lady was already sick and well beyond tired...after a hurried dinner and bath time we got both kids in bed...and we were ready to start our week....Monday Syd was still under the weather....running a fever and a terrible "barking" cough...that night she did not sleep every well at all...and since she hadn't had a good nights sleep since Friday night it was all adding up on my little lady (syd does not tolerate lack of sleep very well at all)....on tuesday I made the call to the pediatrician to get her to be seen....we came home with the diagnosis of strep and croup...not a good combination for such a small thing....we started her on her meds....she actually slept through the night on Tuesday....but Wednesday man was she crabby....the most crabby I have ever seen her....and she was still not feeling well....Wednesday night was awful for her and us...she was up about 5 times during the night in pain and coughing....I felt so bad for her...on thursday it was her brothers birthday...we wanted to go do fun things for it....but unfortunately we could not since she was still so sick and we couldnt take her out in public anywhere....after yet another bad day with her...we made the call to take her to urgent care since she had had 3 full days of her meds and not showing any signs of improvement...so her and I went up to the urgent care while daddy and breyden did parent teacher conferences and karate....well besides the strep and croup...she now has an ear and sinus infection...and a new stronger board spectrum antibiotic....we came home and we were waiting for Daddy and Breyden to get home so we could sing happy birthday to the little man and give him his cake...since it was a crazy day and it had yet to happen....but poor Syd asked to go to bed before they got home....I even reminded her that we were doing cake...and she said "no mommy I want bed!"...that is when you know they are truly sick....I felt so bad for her....today she woke up and its doing so much better...after only two doses of the new meds....so happy that it looks like she is turning the corner....I dont think she could have taken too much more...heres to hoping that sickness is on its way out!!!
