Warrior Dash 2012 Complete!

We did it!  We completed the Warrior Dash at Afton Alps yesterday....or as Andrew says "He survived"....it was a lot of fun....yes fun!...it was really really hot yesterday 95 degrees with humidity and full sun....but atleast there were water stations and hoses....even one of the "medics" was reminding us at the next obstacle that we need to get ourselves real wet...so we would stay cool!!!  The goal was for us to finish together and have fun....this year was not able to time....Andrew hasn't had a chance to get in the "workout" mode...so he was not as prepared as it as I was/am.....so we just did what he could do......my only requirement was no sitting...we could go as slow as he wanted/needed but there was no stopping or sitting....and we made it....I have to say it was very hilly....atleast 60-70% was an uphill climb of some sort....and I saw people running (full on running) it...I still don't know how they did that.....here are some pictures of us before and after.....you will notice the difference between the pre-dirt to the post-dirt pics!

About to leave home to head to afton! (and yes he shaved his head)

Pre-dash....about to go get in the corral for the wave!

Post-dash....you get dirty (kinda) through out, but the real mud is the last obstacle!

Striking our warrior poise we learned at the starting line

Pile 'ole dirty shoes....dirty ditry nasty shoes!

Two well deserved beverages!!!

Loved seeing all the costumes....we ran with the Village people and a group dressed as Hooter waitresses (both guys and girls).....and the best conversation was midway when one of the guys from the Hooters group and the Police man from the Village people had the conversation of what was worse to run this in...."large plastic tits....or black vinyl chaps".....it was a toss up!!!.....we had many of laughs throughout the day.....and it was a great day spent together....Overall it was a great experience.....and we plan on doing it again next year.....Andrew wants to go for a better time and be in better shape....and maybe we will have a bigger group go too....who knows.....but we survived it....have dirt that doesn't wash off the first time to prove it!!!
