Goal accomplished and then some

A couple months ago I signed myself up for another 5k....once you get into running and into races/events its addicting....they are a way to show that all the hard work and dedication are not all for nothing....its concrete evidence that you are improving yourself....I ran my first one in April....now when I ran it I had only been doing the insanity workout program and biking....no running....so I was not prepared....my only goal was to complete it....and I did....and I was pleasantly surprised by my time of 29:54 with a pace of 9:58 per mile....not bad at all....even Andrew was surprised that I broke the 30 minute mark with no actual running under my belt....after that first race I was hooked....and could not stop planning on my next race

we (Andrew and I) were already signed up for the warrior dash in June....now this wasn't time thing for either of us....mostly cuz Andrew was not in shape or had prepared for it at all...and two we did not know what to expect from such a large event...it was more of completely it....and that we did!

Once the warrior dash was done...I started researching into 5k/10k/half marathons.....I mean alot of researching....I knew neither of us were or would be ready for a full marathon....but the others were doable....so I saw the TC 10...but its a lottery...not a guaranteed entry...but I entered both of in it...and the results were Andrew was in and I was not...I was not all that pleased with that....but through other avenues I was able to get registered for the 10 mile as well....so we are both in training right now for that....there is no winging a 10 mile....you need to be prepared.....and since we were doing that I wanted to run yet another 5k to see where I was....so I signed up for the Lady's Speedstick 5k this past weekend....my goal for the 5k was to complete it with a pace of 9 minutes per mile and I would be happy.....well it turned out I did way better than that....my finishing time was 25:18 and my pace was 8:09 and I finished 9th out of 226....I am extremely with my results!

If someone would have told me 1 year ago that I would have done this I would have said no way and not believed them....but through hard work and dedication nothing is impossible anymore!
