Oil Cleansing Method

So as I have posted in earlier rants....my skin (face) has revolted completely against me!...its awful....just last week Andrew asked what is going on with my face....he's like I have never seen you this bad....ever...that is saying something...he has been with me since I was 17 yrs old....in the throws of highschool acne....and almost 16 yrs later its like I am 33 yr old grown women with a 13 yr olds face issues....so i have tried everything....you name it everything....and I just retook my skin id test to see if their product would help...it only made it worse....drying my skin out....which leads to more breakouts....so randomly last week while looking at facebook I saw a link for cleaning out your bathroom...and the products in it....now I am not a organic pushing person....but I ended up going through a series of links until I got hooked on an article about the "oil cleansing method"  see link....and I read and read and read....then I googled....and found many other related links about the benefits of it....when I was researching I was very skeptical since how can oil clean your skin....but I figured what the hell I have nothing left to lose....my face cant get any worse!

Basically the main ingredient is castor oil...now I never knew about castor oils face cleaning properties....only that I was considering taking it while I was nearing the end of my pregnancy with Sydney....now you take the castor oil and mix it with another oil...since castor oil can dry out your skin (weird as it may seem this is true)....but I ended up buying sunflower seed oil....when I first tried it I mixed 50/50....but afterwards my face was too dry....so I up'd the sunflower to 60 or 70%...I hate measuring....I am an eyeballer...if that is a word....but basically what you do is....pour about a quarter size amount in your hands....rub the oil in your hands for about 30 secs to warm it....then rub it on your face for about 2 minutes ( I call this time basting a turkey...cuz thats what it feels like)....all the while you are rubbing have the hot water running in your sink and have a wash cloth handy....once your 2 minutes are up....you leave the oil on for another 30 secs to help loosen the crap on your face....then you wet the wash cloth and hold it up to your face until it cools off....I repeat this process starting on my forehead...moving to my nose/cheeks...then my chin and repeat and wipe off the excess oil...

Now I have only been doing this for about a week...and my skin looks better....not drastically....but its not worse...and it feels better than it did a week ago!  So I am content for now...I am going to be adding in a couple essential oils....to help with zits...one it tea tree which will help combat them head on...and the other is peppermint to help with inflammation and antibacterial....

So I am hoping that in another week or so I am hoping that I have even better results!  (one can only hope right)
