T-minus 5 days until the TC10 mile

Its T-minus 5 days and counting until the TC10 Mile.  I am nervous, excited....a hot mess of emotions....

I really wished I never injured my ankle....(I am beyond thankful that it is mostly recovered)...I feel that if it would not have been injured I would feel better prepared physically and mentally...I have this feeling that I have been playing catch up ever since the beginning of Sept....I wanted to run a 8 miler prior to my race....but never got the opportunity to...I will have to just deal with running an almost 6.5 miler on Friday and the run I was able to take on Sunday that felt awesome...that one helped put in me a place mentally that no run has yet....This week is my "taper" week....conserving energy, but still exercising and preparing for Sunday....I plan on running on Tuesday and Thursday, cross training on Wednesday....Friday maybe a walk....or else rest...and rest on Saturday....Sunday prior to dawn we will be heading out!





I saw this image on a page and it is so true....training for a race...deciding to change ones lifestyle to be healthier....or whatever it may be...it does hurt, you need to be dedicated, have the will power to muster through it (there have been numerous times these past few weeks that I wanted to just stay in bed and sleep and that the pain was just too much)....but when you reach your goal (whatever it may be)...its all worth it!...My goal is completely the 10 Mile...and not stopping to walk...powering through it....and once that is complete I will take a week off...to rest and heal...and than on to the next goal!
