Finally after 2 yrs of trying

Last week spring finally had sprung here in the frozen tundra of MN....we are all very thankful....even though they are saying possible snow again tomorrow and the next day....I am choosing to ignore it until I see it.....since it was nice and warm we went outside to play....

Syd wanted to try her big girl bike....a bike we have had for 2 yrs now....thanks to friends who gave it to us....and every spring/summer we have attempted it....but she refused to ride it....kept saying she is a little girl and the bike was too big for her....now I'll give her the first summer....but last year she could have rode it....she was just being stubborn...a trait she must have gotten from her father....but she is 4 plenty old enough to ride a bike and she is not short either....finally on Friday last week she wanted to try it again....and I was thinking ok great....ride up and down our sidewalk and only across the driveway since its steep....well she did pretty good....and was picking up speed....so I had to go in search of a helmet....well we don't officially have a bike helmet but a ski helmet will work for now

On Friday she was only going across one way and then getting off the bike to turn it around and then going back the other way....by saturday she was being daring and trying to turn around while riding it...which she did a couple times....by yesterday she is becoming a pro....riding it in circles

I am so proud of her....and what she has finally done....even though it took 2 yrs....she's getting the hang of it quickly....let's hope to God she does not fall off until some time in the distant future....cuz then that will be the end of that....but I think her stubbornness of wanting to be a big kid like her brother finally got the best of her.....here's to a spring/summer filled with lots of bike riding for both kids!
