Slowly Finding Our Routine

Syd has been out of school now for a little over a week....I am enjoying the fact that I do not have to drive her in anymore or having the schedule of needing to be someplace at a specific time...that is nice....but with that comes the fact that she is here 24 hrs a day 7 days a week....and I am thankful that I get a 2 and half week period with her alone before her brother joins us during the day....

Its been nice just being the two of us....but it'll also be nice when he is here to help entertain her....which is a double edge sword too...we are at the age where 7 and 4 are incompatible at times....and the fact that one is a boy and the other is a girl....there is lots of sibling fighting in this house (which I am assuming is normal...or my kids just like to drive me crazy)...but Breyden wants his space....Syd just wants someone to play with her....so its a daily balancing act to give Breyden his down time, but also make sure they play together.....

This past week Syd and I have *not* enjoyed this weather one bit....we did however enjoy a pajama day on tuesday....even though she may have embraced it a bit too much....since I found her passed out on the couch downstairs with her brother at 5pm....

Atleast she went to bed without issue....we've also been doing our normal gym routine...which is nice it gets us out of the house two or three times a week....and gives her some time to play with kids her age and get out that pent up energy....not like we can be outside these past few days....and I am also working on not using tv as a crutch during the day....its time to break away and let her have her time when I have a meeting or during quiet time...and that's it....

I have more plans for this summer when they are both out....to make sure Breyden keeps up with his reading, spelling and math while he is home with me....and work with Syd on her writing, reading to her, and ABC's....nothing major...but things I need to do for both of them!

But for now I am thankful its just her and I for another 8 days....then it will be the 3 of us again until September....let's hope this summer is uneventful and fun for everyone!
