Sibling Feuding

So I am an only child....from a divorced family nonetheless....so I really do not know anything about sibling feuding...I went to day care as a child....and they raised me like one of their own....so I am sure I had some exposure to it....and I am sure I was annoying as hell.....since I was a only child....

Now having two kids....there are times when they play nicely together.....the help each other out without being asked.....they laugh and have fun.....but these moments do not last long enough....and they are replaced with fighting....yelling....or in some instances hitting....mostly by Syd who is in the lovely transition stage of seeing how much shit she can get away with before she gets in real trouble....

Sometimes I wonder if it's cuz we have a boy and girl that they fight more often than not..... or if its the age they are at....I know a 7 yr old really doesn't want to always have to play with a 4 yr old.....but that's life.....they are three years apart and nothing is going to change that....

Their personalities are completely different and I can tell that their birth order definitely has shaped that....Breyden is my first born...he is strong-willed....sensitive.....independent....bossy....and going through the "this isn't fun anymore" stage....and Sydney is my second born....she is loving....sassy....never wanting to be alone....always wants someone to play with her......two totally different little people

But there are days that all I really want to hear and see is them playing together nicely for more 30 minutes at a time....and not always have to be referee....or the bad cop...to break up their fighting.....
