Oppressive Heat Wave

 

Now don't get me wrong I love summer....I love the warm weather....even though I grew up here in MN....my time in Virginia Beach thinned out my blood.....and I got accustomed to shortened winters and longer summers.....when I used to visit MN back in day I remember it being 80 here and I would be jeans because it was cold to me....but also I remember the month of August it being wretchedly humid and hot and not venturing out much unless it was to the beach.....air conditioning was my and still is my best friend.....

The winters here in MN are endless at times (especially this past one who the hell wants shovelable snow in May...not this lady).....the first snow fall or two are pretty especially if its around Christmas.....but after that its just plain old.....I hate the salt and sand that is tracked in my house and my entryway becomes a drying area for coats, hats, mittens, and snowpants....and shoveling snow gets old real quick....

This past week has been hotter than hell out....I am ready for it to cool off a bit....the idea of going outside to sit and stew in sweat is not appealing anymore....I do enough of that with running in this shit....(don't even get me started on that one....not looking forward to running 19 miles this saturday in this damn heat).....nor is listening to the kids complain its too hot out.....but on the flip side the kids are getting restless from being couped up in the house.....its a double edge sword!

Here's to hoping that there is a break in this heat some time soon!  So we can atleast go out and enjoy the last couple days of summer before the reality of school hits us next week!
