I have been saying this all summer...but it has finally arrived Breydens first day of Kindergarten! I can not believe its here (as I am typing this my big boy is getting ready to eat his first lunch at school...he helped me pack it last night!) Last wednesday we had his entrance day where he got to meet his teacher again and stayed and played with her and few other classmates while Andrew and I were educated on all the school rules and policies! We also got to take a bus ride from the primary school to the intermediate school where the kids transfer (this is what has had me worried the most...basically our school bus system here in Isanti is all grade...YES all grades K-12 get on one bus in the neighborhood...then they are taken to the intermediate school where everyone except grades 3-5 have to get on another bus that will take them to their respective schools....once I was told about this a few years ago i was shocked...and now that I have a kid in the school system its even more worrisome...but I have seen all my neighborhood kids do it...so i know it can be done...but its an added fear for his first day for me!!)...after his entrance day Breyden was super excited to actually go to school....he is so excited to be able to get on the bus!!! so finally the day has come!!! My little man is now a kindergartner!!!
And as soon as the bus pulled away this morning...poor Syd said "I miss my brother" (heart breaking)!!!
Besides this big change we are hitting the ground running this week....Syd starts dance for the first time tonight...and tomorrow her and I are in the littlest bookworms (ECFE class) to get her used to playing with other kids without me there....so next year when she goes to preschool it wont be such a shock for her....then Breyden starts karate this week and learn to skate.....its going to take a couple weeks but we will get into our new routine and be settled!!!
As for right now I am anxiously waiting for that yellow bus to drop off my first born!!! So I can hear about all the exciting things he did on his first day!!!
