I can not believe its already over with, but our anniversary has come and gone.....our 4 days weekend is over with.....it was a great time....we stayed at the Cove Point Lodge in Beaver Bay, MN on the North Shore....it was gorgeous there....the view from our room was unbelievable even in the dead of winter....the drive up there was less than desirable...considering we drove in a nice winter storm, but 4.5 hrs later we made it up there....and we enjoyed a very yummy dinner there that night.....Saturday we went skiing at Lutsen...we had a great time....we were both happy that we decided to go and are now addicted to it...and currently planning our next venture....the views on top of the mountains at lutsen are amazing with Lake Superior in front or back of you...and for the most part the weather was decent....it was a little too windy in places, but overall it was fun...even the crazy russians at the top of moose mountain gave us a laugh....Sunday was the chill day....we had breakfast and napped...then decided to go to Split Rock lighthouse since it was 5 miles down the road...and Sunday was also the cold day of the trip...hoovering at only 14....and it was below zero when we woke up....Split Rock was very pretty...we did some hiking on a couple a trails....and we were able to walk down to the bottom of the rock and got some amazing shots of the lake....and when we were done there we did a little exploring outside our hotel....I have to say I would love to move to the North Shore....Its beautiful up there...and there is so much to do outside...even in winter!!! Finally Monday morning we headed back home....it only took us 4 hrs (less time then getting up there) to come home and that included lunch in Duluth!
Here's some pictures from our adventures!
Our room
It had a nice fireplace and Jacuzzi in it

This was Sunday Morning the lake was steaming...since it was so cold outside!

I am so thankful that we were able to go away and spend some time together as a couple...its something we both needed and enjoyed...and we are in the process of planning our return trip back to the North Shore!
