Hold the milk...please
So 10 days ago we found out our youngest is allergic to milk....not be confused with lactose intolerance, but literally allergic to milk....we took her to her peds doctor due to a rash around her mouth that we have been battling for months....and I have never been around anyone who has food allergies....nor has my husband....neither of us have issues with food...so when we took her in they did a RAST blood test for strawberries and milk...since these were the two things we could figure out she eats daily....when we left the doctors office both my husband and I said it had to be strawberries since she has no stomach issues with milk....little did we know that the stomach issues are related to lactose intolerance and not the being allergic to the protein in milk....so when the doctor called me 10 days ago to give me the results...i literally wanted to say "you are f%@* kidding me" (yes pardon my french...but thats where I was)....and was informed we need to stop giving her any form of dairy....no milk, no cheese, no yogurt....for atleast two weeks to make sure the rash went away....which is has gotten so much better.....and we were told she was in the moderate level for her allergy...so given time she may be able to have "some" milk....yet to know what that is or when....these last 10 days have not been fun....my little lady is picky eater to being with and is stubborn as a mule....so getting her to actually drink soy, almond, chocolate soy, coconut (yes we have 4 varieties in the house at this present time) is a pure test of will and whos gonna win.....we have read that sometime they can grow out of it....I am so hoping this is true.....but for now we live in a world with regular milk for one and whatever we think she will drink for the other!
