More time needed

As I stated in my last post I was planning on attempting to go back to work on Tuesday....but come Monday I was not feeling that great....and when I was at the hospital on my discharge paperwork it clearly stated with capital letters NOT to go back to work until my scheduled follow up which is two weeks after my surgery....and I was feeling really loopy from my pain meds.....so after talking with the doctors PA and getting new meds....we made the decision I was not ready to go back to work....and I really would not be worth it for them either.....so we postponed my returning until Dec 12th.....and it is nice to take the pressure off and let me take the time my body obviously needs!.....we also went back to the orthotic place and had my neck collar refit....since the one they fitted me with was way too big and was causing more unneeded pain on my upper back....it has been almost 24 hrs with the new smaller collar and it has made a difference already....which is good since I have to wear it for another 3 weeks....and I feel like I am rounding the corner in my recovery which is great....but I know with that I will have to be more mindful with my activity and lifting....not being able to lift more than 5 lbs is hard....especially when you are a mom!

Onto other events.....Christmas is coming as we all know and we are getting ready as much as we can....and "Bart" our elf decided to come back from the blustery north pole (aka cold dark box in the storage area) to watch over our children.....

It was so nice of him to bring a gingerbread house for the kids to decorate......they had a blast yesterday afternoon putting the candies on the roof.....they each got a side....and were able to decorate it however they wanted!

Shockingly the decorating of the gingerbread house went well with both kids....no fitting....or arguing.....so all in all it was a good idea! (and 30 minutes of peace)!
