Lifetime

Almost a couple a weeks ago....I brought up the fact that I really wanted/needed to join a gym....the place we live has a small workout area....but its boring and equipment is awful....and its getting to the point that I don't even want to go....and I wanted to join a gym so that I would not have to wake up at 430 in the morning to get it in....since I needed Andrew home to be with the kids....and I wanted the social atmosphere that a gym would bring....so last week we decided to swing into Lifetime and see what they have....at first it was just going to be me and the kids....but Andrew really liked it as well....so we priced it out for all of us....and it was reasonable....so we joined....and we both went on the first day....the kids were in the play room while we were doing the tour and paperwork....they both had a blast!!

Since we enrolled in January...they had a few specials going on....we got two free personal trainer visits and some my healthscore thing.....the personal trainer that I was scheduled for is awesome....the first meeting was the go over your lifestyle: what you eat, what you are actively doing now, what you have done, your goals....why doing this is important...we also talked about my current limitations and restrictions and how that will hopefully change in the near future....he gave me a couple tips to start with....and then said that my program would be tailored at first to my limitations and then it will change again when I can start running or doing more impact activities....over all I enjoyed the experience and walked away from it excited for what was to come....the second time I met him he gave me some exercises that I can do currently....as well as did a posture analysis...to see what areas I am over using and under using...and not surprising I need to use my gluteus maximus (aka your ass) more....after that visit it was time to make my decision if I wanted to continue on....and for me I felt it was needed....I have been on the path of trying to be healthier and test my limits/abilities for over 2.5 yrs....but I need more help so that I do no injury myself...and to help me train properly for the next phase of this journey....so I decided to go for it

It has been just over a week, but all of us like going....the kids have a blast....when I pick them up after my workout they are red faced and tired from all the running around and fun they are having....they are getting out energy that is much needed....they are having the social engagement with kids their age as well.....and everyday they ask if they get to go play today....All-in-all is was a great choice for our family!!

  1. You will love Lifetime. For the two-hours of free childcare, it's hard to pass that up. Even if you can't work out, you can sit in the hot tub or read a book with a smoothie UNINTERRUPTED!!!
